Location: Susquehanna Valley Surgery Center
This is a casual position with rotating day/evening shifts, Monday through Friday, no weekends or holidays. The starting pay rate varies based on experience.
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) assists with patient care duties, including activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning, and repositioning patients. Responsibilities include documenting in medical records, reporting equipment malfunctions, responding to call lights, and ensuring safety policies are followed.
The PCT establishes professional relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members, providing feedback and reporting changes in patient status. They may provide patient education under RN supervision.
Additional preferred qualifications include EMT or Paramedic certification or enrollment, microcomputer skills, and effective communication skills.
CPR certification (BLS or CPR) required within 30 days of hire, based on AHA standards.
