Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide nursing assistance and patient care to ensure comfort, safety, and personal needs. You will support activities of daily living and assist with hygiene and comfort as part of a unit-based, self-directed care team.

Required certifications include BLS and a Georgia Registry CNA, CMA, RMA or NHA CMA, plus at least one year of acute patient care experience. Preferred color acuity may apply in certain units.

Qualifications

• Must have American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry or CMA/RMA/NHA CMA certification is required.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Technician provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. Performs duties with the construct of a unit-based, self-directed patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members.

REQUIRED

1. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)


2. Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry

OR

Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

OR

Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)

OR

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

1. One (1) year of patient care experience, as a CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech or other relevant acute, direct patient care experience.

PREFERRED

1. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
