Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide nursing assistance and patient care to ensure comfort, safety and personal needs. You will support activities of daily living and assist with hygiene, working within a unit-based, self-directed care team.

The role requires BLS and one of several certifications (CNA, CMA, RMA, CCMA) and at least one year of hands-on patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Georgia Registry OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by AAMA OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by AMT OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by NHA.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing assistance and patient care to ensure comfort, safety and personal needs of patients.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs duties for physical hygiene and comfort.
• Works within a unit-based, self-directed patient care team while sharing tasks with licensed and non-licensed members.

The Patient Care Technician provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. Performs duties with the construct of a unit‑based, self‑directed patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non‑licensed members.

REQUIRED

1. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
2. Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry
   OR Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) OR Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
3. One (1) year of patient care experience, as a CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech or other relevant acute, direct patient care experience.

PREFERRED

1. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
