Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide nursing assistance and patient care, ensuring comfort, safety, and personal needs are met. The role involves supporting activities of daily living and performing hygiene-related procedures within a unit-based, self-directed care team.

Required credentials include BLS, a Georgia Registry CNA (or equivalent CMA/AMT/NHA alternative) and at least one year of direct patient care experience in acute settings.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is mandatory.
• Candidate must hold a Georgia Registry CNA or equivalent credential.
• At least 1 year of direct patient care experience (CNA, PCT, ED Tech, etc.).
• Alternative recognized credentials (CMA, RMA, CCMA) are eligible in lieu of CNA.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing assistance and patient care to support comfort, safety and personal needs.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and hygiene.
• Work within a unit-based, self-directed team to share tasks with licensed and non-licensed staff.

The Patient Care Technician provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. Performs duties with the construct of a unit-based, self-directed patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members.

REQUIRED

1. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)


2. Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry

OR

Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

OR

Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)

OR

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

1. One (1) year of patient care experience, as a CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech or other relevant acute, direct patient care experience.

PREFERRED

1. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
