Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide basic daily care to patients and support to families. The role involves assisting with hygiene, daily living activities, and basic nursing tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse.

The position emphasizes compassionate patient interaction, safety, and collaboration with the SRAlab team to deliver high-quality care and support the patient care plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA Certification or enrollment in an accredited nursing program required.
• Successful completion of the Patient Care Technician orientation.
• Ability to transfer and position patients up to 35 lbs.
• Demonstrates competency in growth and development of patients across age groups.

Responsibilities

• Performs activities in treatment and care of patients, including routine hygiene care and feeding.
• Collects and records vital signs and other patient data.
• Assists in transferring patients and equipment between areas.
• Documents care and patient data in nursing records.
• Maintains bedside supply inventory and ensures a clean environment.
