Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and listing on the Illinois CNA Registry or nursing student who completed one clinical rotation.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Collect, label and transport specimens as assigned.
• Obtain 12 lead EKGs.
• Discontinue Saline Locks and Indwelling Urinary Catheters as directed.
• Perform hourly patient rounding in collaboration with the RN.
• Assist patients with hygiene and nutritional needs per the plan of care.
• Monitor safety and respond to patient call lights promptly.
• Assist with post mortem care and participate in performance improvement activities.
