Job summary

Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) is hiring a Patient Care Technician II or III for the Float Pool. Under direct supervision, you will assist with patient care, safety, and daily tasks on the unit, coordinating with the bedside RN and charge nurse.

You will monitor vital signs, assist with procedures, maintain a clean environment, and support infection control while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. This role requires a high school diploma and BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2 years of patient care experience required.
• 4 years of patient care experience may substitute for formal education.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Observe and respond to patient safety concerns; notify RN of changes.
• Perform regular environmental checks with the nurse to ensure safety.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment; report hazards and assist with infection control.
• Provide daily patient care: vital signs, transports, specimen collection, feeding, hygiene, and mobility support.
• Identify abnormal signs and report changes to the RN; follow safety procedures.
• Assist with dressing changes, suctioning, and basic care tasks.
• Handle clerical duties: phones, requisitions, scheduling, and charting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
