UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Patient Care Technician I with the goal of advancing to PCT II. Under the direction of a licensed clinician, you will provide patient care to meet personal needs, assist the healthcare team, and help maintain a safe, compassionate environment.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, current BLS, English literacy, and prior inpatient/outpatient patient care experience totaling about 800 hours.

Formación

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support.
• Demonstrated competency attainment in the Patient Care Technician I level, work a minimum of 800 hours and at least 6 months as a PCT I or 6 months of prior inpatient/outpatient direct patient care experience.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a clear and concise manner.
• Medical Terminology.
• Computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to gather information from individuals, build relationships that support collaborative work within the department and across the organization and provide exceptional service to patients.
• Must have proven problem‑solving abilities for routine situations.
• Must be able to remain calm when under stress or in emergency situations.

Responsabilidades

• Provides patient care to meet personal needs and comfort under supervision.
• Assists in daily living activities and patient transport.
• Maintains safety and follows policies for restraints and procedures.
• Records vital signs and basic measurements.
• Assists with treatments and procedures as directed by licensed staff.
• Prepares equipment and supplies and ensures clean up after procedures.
