Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Limited or no experience Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to perform basic mathematics
• Basic computer skills
• Acute care experience within the last 3 years
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program and completed at least one clinical rotation

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities such as activities of daily living, blood pressure, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, intake and output, meal consumption, height and weight, glucose testing, transporting patients and records, documentation in EMR, early mobilization and ambulation protocols.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives such as bedside shift report and hourly rounding to promote safety and cleanliness.
• Accurately documents vital signs, weights, I&O, restraints, specimen collection, and all treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activity such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
