Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a dedicated nursing assistant to provide direct patient care and support on an inpatient unit. Under RN supervision, you will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and document patient information in the electronic medical record.

The role requires basic nursing skills, good communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rotating shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic nursing assistant skills and ability to read/write instructions.
• CPR certification preferred or required per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care and activities (ADLs, vitals, I&O, specimen collection, ambulation).
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives including bedside shift report and hourly rounding.
• Documents vitals, weights, I&O, specimens; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Supports unit activities: stocking supplies and cleaning equipment.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
