Job summary

cwpnonproviders in Bethesda is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in office and Ambulatory Surgical Center settings. You will enter intake data into the EMR, assist with pre-op and recovery, and help maintain patient flow.

Responsibilities include HIPAA compliance, timely communication, and maintaining clinical equipment and supplies. Strong teamwork and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, other co-workers and the public.
• Ability to work individually as well as within a team.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Flexible schedule.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of healthcare field and medical terminology.
• If working in an ASC, influenza vaccination proof or mask if refusing.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient intake and provider orders into the EMR.
• Assist in bringing patients to pre-op, recovery and discharge.
• Assist patients with medical forms as necessary.
• Adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality rules.
• Prepare forms and requisitions as instructed by the provider.
• Support infection control and OSHA standards.
