Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician - Health Unit Coordinator to support nursing teams in a fast-paced hospital environment in Texas. You will handle clerical tasks and direct patient care under supervision of licensed nurses.

This is an entry-level role with opportunities to grow within a large not-for-profit system. Responsibilities include collecting patient data, assisting with daily activities, maintaining records and supplies, and coordinating communications

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Experience: Less than 1 year of experience.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required or within 30 days of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Collects and records patient data and vital signs, reporting to nursing staff.
• Assists patients with daily activities and comfort needs.
• Maintains unit records, equipment, and supply inventories.
• Greets visitors and answers phones; assists nursing staff as needed.
• Performs non-clinical tasks and transports patients as required.
