Job summary

The Little Clinic is hiring a Patient Care Technician to support front-end operations and clinical tasks in our Indiana clinics. You will help maximize patient flow, assist providers, document in the EHR, and ensure a positive patient experience. This role requires strong communication, organization, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to interact with patients and staff professionally.
• Basic math for payments and registrations.
• Strong teamwork in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a safe, quality-based clinic environment compliant with Joint Commission standards.
• Greet customers or patients in the front area and near the clinic.
• Help with daily cleaning, supply logging, and exam room turnover.
• Answer questions per HIPAA guidelines and consult with the provider on scope of services.
• Manage waiting room flow using scheduling tools and patient queue systems.
• Complete patient registrations and verify identity with government-issued IDs.
• Describe payment options, collect payments, and log in the EHR.
• Collect insurance information and process payments in the EHR.
• Scan documents or escalate to provider for scanning needs.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and record chief complaints and vitals.
• Support waiting patients with registration guidance and wait times.
• Answer calls and perform daily patient callbacks per policy.
• Prepare for off-site events and arrange weekly orders for the provider's approval.
• Travel to designated clinics if floated to other locations.
• Assist providers with specimen collection as allowed by protocol.
