Job summary

The Little Clinic in Wichita is seeking a Patient Care Technician to help maximize patient flow and deliver a stellar patient experience. You will perform administrative tasks, including EHR documentation, while representing the company values of respect, integrity, and safety.

You will greet patients, manage the front area, collect payments, verify identities, and assist providers with exams and specimen collection as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Strong administrative and organizational abilities with high attention to detail.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and task-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a safe, quality-based, survey-ready healthcare environment as required to maintain Joint Commission Accreditation.
• Greet customers and potential patients in the front area.
• Clean and organize the clinic space daily; manage supplies and disinfect equipment.
• Answer questions while following HIPAA guidelines; consult with provider on scope of services.
• Manage waiting room flow using patient queue, appointment tool, and patient kiosk systems.
• Complete registration and place patient under the scheduler book for the provider on duty.
• Verify patient identity with government-issued ID.
• Determine payment method and collect payments; log in the EHR.
• Collect and log patient insurance information; process payments.
• Scan documents or route to provider for scanning as needed.
• Escort patient to exam room and determine chief complaint.
• Obtain vital signs and patient history; enter data into EHR.
• Assist waiting patients with registration, wait time, services, and payments information.
• Answer phones, handle patient/provider calls; perform daily callbacks per policy.
• Participate in off-site events as needed.
• Prepare weekly supply orders for provider approval; package and ship laboratory specimens.
• If float, travel to designated clinics within geographic area.
• Advanced PCTs may assist with specimen collection per protocol; report results to patients.
