Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for Unit 3600 Day Shift. You will assist the nurse with patient care, monitor safety, and support the environment to ensure compassionate, high-quality service.

Responsibilities include data collection for quality programs, assisting with patient satisfaction improvements, and participating in unit meetings. Must have PCT-related education/certifications and BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with hospital experience (6 months) or CNA with EKG/Phlebotomy course and PCT cert eligible.
• BLS/Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse in patient care tasks and maintain safety of supplies and environment.
• Support unit in quality improvement data collection and patient satisfaction measures.
• Communicate with patients, families, and staff with a respectful, caring approach.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges per unit operations.
• Perform phlebotomy, fingerstick glucose, and ECG as assigned.
• Maintain infection prevention standards and safety of patient care areas.
