Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for night shifts in Unit 4800. The role supports nurses in patient care, maintains a safe, clean unit, and assists with admissions and procedures while upholding NYU Langone Health core values.

Minimum qualifications include a PCT program background with hospital experience or CNA with EKG/Phlebotomy coursework, BLS/CPR certification, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; hospital experience preferred.
• Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital exposure.
• CNA graduate with coursework in EKG & phlebotomy; PCT cert eligible.
• NHA PCT certification with hospital experience preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification required on entry to the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional nurse in patient care and family support.
• Maintain supplies, equipment and environment safety per protocol.
• Participate in data collection for unit quality improvement and patient satisfaction.
• Support admission, transfer and discharge procedures as directed.
• Communicate with patients, families and staff with clarity and empathy.
• Perform tasks such as phlebotomy, fingersticks, and ECGs as assigned.
