Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician I in Marlborough, MA. The role provides patient care under licensed clinician supervision and supports the healthcare team to meet patient needs.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, vital signs, observations, and safety, while maintaining professional standards and effective communication with the RN and team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 800 hours of PCT I experience or 6 months of inpatient/outpatient direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to the RN regarding patient observations.
• Maintain constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
• Assist in maintaining a safe environment and help with de-escalation; follow restraint policies as directed.
• Assist patients with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
• Assist in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients with proper safety techniques.
• Assist RN with treatments and procedures by preparing equipment and supplies.
