Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician at Methodist West Hospital. A $5,000 Sign-On Bonus is available for full-time hires. The role supports nursing staff, delivering basic care, comfort, ADLs, and respiratory assistance under RN supervision.

Shifts vary: Part-Time Nights/Days in 3 West Ortho & Med/Surg and Full-Time 11a-11p in Emergency Department, with weekend and holiday rotations. Prior CNA/EMT-B/BLS credentials are required or obtainable within a few months.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Some positions may require at least 18 years old.
• Current BLS certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• PCT performs patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN.
• Provides and documents care including ADLs, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support as directed by the RN.
• Must possess and maintain ability to lift, move, position and transport patients.
• Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service.
