Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist nurses with basic patient care under supervision. This role supports daily living activities, mobility, and comfort for patients at Methodist Hospital.

Eligible candidates may receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus for full-time appointments. Shifts include Part-Time Nights, Part-Time Days, and may involve weekend/holiday rotations across multiple units.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Some positions may require at least 18 years old
• CNA Certification preferred
• Basic CNA Course or EMT-B Certification
• Valid Driver's License when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within three months from date of hire
• Minimum Experience: Comprehensive on-the-job training provided

Responsibilities

• PCT performs patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN.
• Possess the ability to lift, move, position and transport patients.
• Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service.

Shift Differentials:

• Shift differential of $2.65/hr for hours worked 3pm-7am


• Weekend shift differential of $2.50/hr for hours worked between Friday 11pm to Monday 7am
