Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Nurse Aide I and eligibility for Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry.
• Nurse Aide II coursework preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge or Medical Secretary training is a plus.
• Ability to learn hospital computer systems and timesheet systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs receptionist duties: answer calls, take messages, greet visitors.
• Monitors equipment and supplies; restocks and reports malfunctions.
• Transcribes and processes orders; maintains patient charts accurately.
• Supports care under RN direction; assists with patient care tasks as needed.
• Maintains patient census and transfers in the hospital system; communicaties with care team.
