Job summary

Sioux Center Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech at Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley, IA. You will provide patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse and assist the nursing team in keeping the unit well organized.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, complete a 75-hour Nurse Aide Training Course within four months, and hold Iowa Nurse Aide certification with BLS. Influenza vaccination is required by December 1, with waivers considered; mandatory reporter training

Position Highlights

The Patient Care Tech provides patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Assists the nursing team in maintaining the nursing unit.

REQUIRED EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Completion of 75 hour Nurse Aide Training Course required within four months of employment.

Position Requirements

• Current valid Iowa Nurse Aide certification required within four months of employment.
• BLS certification required.
• Annual influenza vaccinations are mandatory for all employees by December 1, unless a medical waiver is signed and approved.
• Completion of the Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse course for Iowa Mandatory Reporters within 30 days of employment and every 3 years thereafter.
