Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Patient Support Associate for the KP5/TH6 Pre/Post-Evening Shift (35 Hours) to assist in maintaining the unit, setting up equipment, and supporting patient care activities. You will handle linen, supplies, patient transport, and coordination with nursing staff to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• High school education or its equivalent.
• Working knowledge of English evident in verbal, reading and writing abilities.
• Able to perform the job satisfactorily within 3 months.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Removes linen from patient care areas and changes linen on unoccupied beds.
• Distributes water pitchers, cups, and straws as directed by the RN.
• Manages patient belongings inventory and transport.
• Performs patient transport for discharged patients when needed.
• Notifies and places patients on transportation prior to arrival (Future scope).
• Maintains inventory of patient care supplies and ensures unit supplies are stocked.
• Removes waste and assists with patient meal tray returns.
• Redistributes supplies and maintains pars in supply areas.
• Retrieves supplies from Pneumatic Tube and Central Distribution and replenishes locations.
• Redistributes medications picked up from the pneumatic tube system.
• Picks up and drops off medications from inpatient pharmacy.
• Notifies SCM/Logistics of non-stocked specialty needs.
• Performs regular regulatory compliance rounds and ensures cleanliness of areas.
• Facilitates exchange of emergency carts and intubation boxes with Pharmacy and Central Sterile.
• transports clinical equipment between departments.
• Demonstrates infection prevention standards and cleans spills.
