NYU Langone Health, a nationally recognized academic medical center in New York, seeks a Patient Support Associate for the Pre/Post-Day shift (35 hours). The role supports patient care teams, maintains unit environments, and ensures equipment readiness and supply availability.

Under nurse manager supervision, you will handle patient transport, inventory management, and collaboration with Pharmacy, Central Sterile, and Logistics to support timely patient flow and safe care delivery.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of English evident in verbal, reading and writing abilities.
• Effective communication with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Removes linen from patient care areas and assists in changing linen on unoccupied patient beds.
• Distributes water pitchers, cups, and straws as directed by the RN.
• Assists in the management of patient belongings by conducting an inventory and transporting belongings.
• Performs patient transport of discharged patients to meet discharge targets.
• Prepares patients and coordinates transportation prior to transport arrival.
• Ensures adequate inventory of patient care supplies.
• Removes waste as needed and assists with food service to ensure tray return.
• Redistributes supplies and maintains pars across supply rooms and carts.
• Retrieves supplies from Pneumatic Tube, Central Distribution and replenishes locations.
• Redistribute medications picked up from the pneumatic tube system and pick up/drop off meds from inpatient pharmacy.
• Notifies SCM/Logistics Manager of non-par stocked needs.
• Performs regulatory compliance rounds and maintains clean, orderly supply areas.
• Facilitates exchange of emergency code carts and intubation boxes with Pharmacy and Central Sterile.
• Transports clinical equipment between departments.
• Demonstrates understanding of infection prevention standards.
• Cleans spills and maintains equipment.
