Job summary

Humana, Inc. and CenterWell Senior Primary Care are seeking a Patient Specialist Medical Assistant for an onsite role to ensure patients are fully prepared before the doctor sees them. You will support clinicians by handling intake, rooming, and documenting patient information to maintain smooth clinical flow.

You will verify medications and allergies, manage the EMR inbox, and use loop-back techniques to confirm patient instructions, enabling physicians to focus on medical decisions.

Qualifications

• Graduated from MA training program or at least 3 years MA experience.
• Current or in progress BLS certification where required.
• Right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Intake and clinical rooming, including vitals, medication/allergy verification, patient history documentation and screenings as needed.
• Inbox and worklist management in the EMR with routing rules for messages, labs and pharmacy follow-ups; aim for same-day touch.
• Education and loop-back: ensure patients understand next steps by asking them to repeat instructions in their own words.
