Job summary

SCA Health is seeking a Call Center Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and the public across multiple sites. You will efficiently answer, triage, and route calls, schedule appointments, and ensure callers reach the right team with minimal handoffs.

You’ll work with a dedicated, local team to provide personalized service without outsourcing. The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and ongoing training in a patient-centered, high-volume clinic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months of call center or high-volume phone operations experience, preferably in a medical or clinic environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Strong computer skills and comfort working with multiple systems and dashboards.
• Previous experience with EMR/EHR platforms and online scheduling systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer, triage, and route incoming calls promptly based on patient needs.
• Schedule appointments accurately using event codes and scheduling tools.
• Route callers to the correct department or team; triage effectively.
• Transfer calls to clinical staff, billing, physical therapy, or surgical teams.
• Use FormDr and Athena dashboards to process requests and schedule appointments.
• Maintain and update the work log; reschedule patients as needed.
• Support clinical teams with chart creation in the EMR and scheduling tasks.
• Monitor the physician on-call schedule and communicate with the answering service.
• Sort and deliver mail to appropriate departments daily.
• Respond to emergency calls per procedures.
• Maintain patient and provider confidentiality at all times.
• Participate in training and meetings.
