Job summary

United Digestive in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Patient Services Retention Coordinator to support procedure scheduling and advanced clinical tasks aimed at keeping patients on track with planned procedures and follow-ups.

You will educate patients on the importance of timely care, offer alternative payment and scheduling options, and work with departments to reduce cancellations while maintaining high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in call center, scheduling, or gastroenterology is preferred.
• Bilingual skills strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, reschedule, and manage cancellations and no-shows for procedures and visits.
• Contact patients with cancelled appointments to recover cancellations and reschedule.
• Coordinate with Financial Counseling for alternate payment options if needed.
• Coordinate with operations for alternate scheduling to meet patient needs.
• Maintain accurate physician schedules and endoscopy block times.
• Respond to information requests from patients and staff promptly.
• Collect and verify patient information in compliance with documentation requirements.
• Provide counseling and education to patients regarding appointments and treatments; distribute prep materials as needed.
• Respond to inquiries from patients and staff promptly and effectively.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
