Job summary

AEG Vision seeks a Patient Care Coordinator to streamline front desk operations and support patient flow across the care team at our Plano site. You will help optimize schedules, confirm appointments, and communicate clearly with patients and providers to ensure a seamless experience.

You will verify insurance, maintain EMR data accuracy, collect charges and follow up on appointments, recalls, and reactivations, contributing to a positive patient journey and efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn EMR/practice management systems.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to identify issues and contribute to solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain patient and practice confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and serve as primary contact for interactions.
• Answer calls, emails, and manage digital communications professionally.
• Schedule appointments and optimize provider schedules, handle cancellations.
• Send confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance and patient demographics; update EMR accurately.
• Explain coverage and patient financial responsibilities.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation before visits.
• Enter charges and payments into EMR; support billing and collections.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor patient flow and adjust schedules as needed.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical teams for smooth transitions.
• Support recall and reactivation outreach for appointments.
• Maintain an organized, patient-ready front office.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Practice Manager/Optometrist.
