Job summary

AEG is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations, patient flow, and scheduling coordination. You will work with the care team to optimize patient experiences from arrival to departure.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. On-site work with comprehensive benefits is included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn practice management systems (EMR).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with a focus on patient-centered service.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to proactively identify issues and contribute to solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to maintain patient and practice confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers, and vendors in a friendly, professional manner; primary point of contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage email or digital communications.
• Schedule patient appointments and optimize provider schedules; manage cancellations and same-day fill opportunities.
• Execute appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographics; enter data in EMR.
• Explain insurance coverage, benefits, and patient financial responsibility.
• Prepare patient charts and documents prior to visits.
• Record charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR; balance allocations.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor daily patient flow and adjust schedules to avoid bottlenecks.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth transitions during visits.
• Support recall and appointment-based retention efforts.
• Maintain an organized, clean front office environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
