Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a part-time scheduling coordinator to obtain and handle medical records, coordinating with patients, physicians, and clinics to ensure accurate patient charts and timely appointments. This role supports referrals and scheduling across multiple clinical services in a fast-paced environment.

Strong customer service, knowledge of medical terminology, and ability to work with a multidisciplinary team are essential.

Qualifications

Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare customer service environment.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of one-year post-secondary education with coursework in business, medical assistant program or nursing assistant program OR equivalent combination of education/experience in customer service or medical scheduling related capacity (one year of education equals one year of experience) required.

Responsibilities

Properly obtain and handle medical records by communicating with patients and providers to create accurate patient charts.
Coordinate patient referrals to clinical programs and services with a team to ensure timely appointments.
Register and schedule patients in a customer service oriented, efficient manner.
Provide clerical support related to scheduling of services and procedures and assist team members as needed.
