Job summary

LUX Infusion is hiring a Patient Support Specialist to coordinate prescription refills and communications with patients and providers. This onsite role in Totowa, NJ emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Pharmacy Technician registration and/or certification (or commitment to obtain within 60 days).
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
• Experience with data entry, healthcare systems, and medical terminology.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and related technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate prescription refills, outreach, and documentation during specialty or infusion therapy.
• Communicate professionally with patients and providers to gather information, labs, and renewals.
• Submit insurance re-authorizations and prior authorizations to prevent delays in therapy.
• Ensure regulatory compliance by asking screening questions and escalating concerns to a pharmacist when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate patient records, demographic information, and insurance documentation.
• Collaborate daily with pharmacy operations teams to support timely dispensing, shipping, and refill coordination.
• Adhere to state Board of Pharmacy regulations, HIPAA, and applicable laws.
• Identify opportunities to improve patient support workflows while maintaining high standards of accuracy and service.
