Job summary

LUX Infusion in Totowa, NJ is seeking a Patient Support Specialist to ensure seamless infusion care through coordination of refills, billing questions, and patient communication. This role supports patients, providers, and pharmacy partners within a clinician-led, patient-first environment.

You will collaborate with pharmacy operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain accurate records while upholding HIPAA and state board requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Pharmacy Technician registration/certification or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Experience providing customer service in healthcare.
• Experience with data entry and healthcare systems.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate prescription refills, outreach, and documentation for specialty or infusion therapy
• Communicate with patients and providers to gather information, lab results, and renewals
• Submit insurance re-authorizations and prior authorizations to prevent delays
• Ensure compliance by asking screening questions and escalating to a pharmacist when appropriate
• Maintain patient records and insurance documentation in designated systems
• Collaborate with pharmacy operations teams to support dispensing, shipping, and refill coordination
• Serve as a trusted contact while adhering to regulations and laws
• Identify opportunities to improve patient support workflows while maintaining high standards
