Job summary

LUX Infusion is seeking a Patient Support Specialist to join our onsite Totowa, NJ team. In this role you’ll coordinate prescription refills, communicate with patients and providers, and help keep therapy on track for patients receiving infusion care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Pharmacy Technician registration and/or certification (or commitment to obtain within 60 days of hire).
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
• Experience with data entry, healthcare systems, and medical terminology.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and related technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate prescription refills, outreach, and documentation during specialty or infusion therapy.
• Communicate professionally with patients and providers to gather information, lab results, and renewals.
• Submit insurance re-authorizations and prior authorizations to prevent delays in therapy.
• Ensure clinical and regulatory compliance by screening questions and escalating to a pharmacist when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate patient records, demographics, and insurance documentation in systems.
• Collaborate daily with pharmacy operations to support dispensing, shipping, and refill coordination.
• Serve as a trusted contact while adhering to state Board of Pharmacy regulations, HIPAA, and applicable laws.
• Identify opportunities to improve patient support workflows with high accuracy and service.
