Job summary

Lexington Regional Health Center is seeking a Patient Navigator to support Family Medicine Specialists and Rural Health Clinics. The role involves accurate patient registration, consent processing, and coordinating care across departments.

Responsibilities include handling payments, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring timely follow-ups and infection control compliance. The position requires coordination with clinical staff to optimize patient care pathways.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service and confidentiality are essential.
• At least 1 year of related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screen and register patients, entering accurate demographic and insurance data into the system.
• Obtain patient consent and document Medicare-related forms as applicable.
• Review and manage queues such as Eligibility and Registration Error/Follow-up.
• Answer phone calls and route callers appropriately throughout the facility.
• Process payments (cash, check, or card) in person and by phone.
• Post payments to accounts and balance cash drawer at shift end.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely follow-ups for high-risk patients.
• Ensure adherence to infection control guidelines for patients and visitors.
• Collaborate with staff to connect patients with needed services and care.
