Job summary

Total Respiratory in Omaha is seeking a patient-focused intake and support associate for home respiratory equipment. You will guide patients through non-clinical CPAP setup, demonstrate operation, and help with appointment scheduling and documentation to ensure a positive patient experience.

You will collaborate with licensed clinicians and use manufacturer materials to educate patients, troubleshoot basic equipment, and assist with insurance verification and orders.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required (healthcare degree optional).
  • Prior DME intake, billing, or authorization experience preferred.
  • 1–2 years in a medical office, DME company, or healthcare customer service preferred.
  • Non-clinical CPAP setup experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for delivery support.
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and guests, check-in for appointments, and manage a multi-line phone system.
  • Provide basic CPAP equipment setup and demonstrate operation per instructions.
  • Demonstrate turning device on/off, connecting accessories, humidifier refills, and filter replacements.
  • Assist with mask sizing and fit using manufacturer templates and headgear adjustments.
  • Explain device data, adherence information, and app usage to patients.
  • Refer clinical questions to the licensed clinician; escalate issues as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of education, equipment issued, and required data.
  • Support referrals, insurance verification, and billing information; assist with daily operations.
