Job summary

Amber Specialty Pharmacy is seeking a Dedicated Patient Care Specialist in our Operations department. This role supports patients with complex conditions, coordinating deliveries, benefits, and program education. Typical hours are 8 a.m.

- 5 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday, with no weekends. The role requires at least six months of patient care experience, strong Microsoft Office skills, and familiarity with Medicare/insurance processes.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the healthcare industry.
• Six months or more of Patient Care Specialist experience.

Responsibilities

• Explains programs and services to patients and staff; informs on shipments and patient rights.
• Acts as liaison between company, patients, insurance, pharma and providers via phone, fax, and email.
• Onboards patients with welcome calls and schedules deliveries; confirms demographics and copay responsibilities.
• Enters data into tracking software; transfers calls to clinical staff for education/assessment.
• Notifies staff of information affecting patient disease state or funding methods; documents interactions.
• Maintains timely responses to patient inquiries by phone or email.
