Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking an entry-level clinical technologist-style role focused on providing medical and clinical support to outpatients. The position involves preparing patient rooms, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, and ensuring accurate medical record documentation.

Duties cover both clinical and administrative tasks within the outpatient clinic. Under supervision, you will support revenue cycle and patient experience, manage patient flow, and ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Clinical Program OR Six (6) months of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
• Basic Life Support Certification OR Obtain within three (3) months.

Responsibilities

• Controls and monitors patient flow to maximize efficient use of providers and exam rooms.
• Prepares medical record for patient visit and verifies accuracy with patient identifiers.
• Provides excellent customer service in all patient interactions.
• Maintains safe, clean environment for patients and families.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares for provider visits.
• Ensures patient and personal safety; performs fall risk assessments.
• Prepares exam rooms per visit needs.
• Assists with exams, treatments and procedures as needed.
• Performs and records vital signs and reviews medications with patient.
• Collects specimens and ensures supplies are ready for use.
• Performs Point of Care Testing (POC) as ordered.
• Performs quality control on equipment.
• Assists with referrals and prior authorizations.
• Stocks and rotates medical supplies in clinics.
• Participates in unit quality improvement projects.
• Provides administrative support (interpreters, calls, messages).
• May cover satellite locations.
