Job summary

National Spine & Pain Centers is seeking a Medical Assistant to greet patients, relay messages, assist with procedures, and maintain sterile techniques in a busy clinic.

Under the Center Manager and Providers, you will prepare patients, take vital signs, record chart data, support infection control, and help with administrative duties when clinical tasks are complete. Attention to detail and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• MA program preferred or 2+ years experience.
• Minimum 1 year related experience, preferably in a group practice.
• Ability to take vital signs.
• General knowledge of healthcare and medical terminology.
• Working knowledge of insurance criteria pertaining to patient lab tests, X-rays, and other procedures.
• Excellent patient care skills and awareness of the legal implications of work and words in healthcare.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in waiting areas and exam rooms.
• Prepares patients, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Manages daily patient flow between providers and patients.
• Takes and records vitals; reviews meds and allergies.
• Documents patient charts with tests and orders.
• Provides discharge instructions and follow-up information.
• Maintains infection control and HIPAA/privacy compliance.
