Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year strong customer service skills (internal/ external).
• Strong communicator and listener.
• Problem solving ability.
• Experience in healthcare.
• Familiarity with in-store technology, such as point-of-sale, patient record systems, and other software applications.
• Basic knowledge of services, products, vision insurance plans/coverage and office operations.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients promptly and courteously.
• Answers the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Schedules appointments to optimize patient flow and provider time.
• Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying doctors of arrivals and delays.
• Facilitates reminder calls for appointment confirmations and pickup notifications.
• Records and updates financial information, collects patient charges, and files third-party claims.
• Maintains business office inventory and equipment and verifies receipt of supplies.
• Protects patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Determines medical and vision insurance eligibility.
• Maintains office systems and a safe working environment.
• Adheres to attendance, policies and dress code; supports weekend/evening shifts.
