Job summary

Lincoln Orthopedic Physical Therapy in Lincoln, NE is seeking a friendly Patient Care Coordinator to be the first impression of our practice. You will warmly welcome patients, collect demographics and insurance details, and coordinate appointments with therapists.

You will verify insurance benefits, obtain prior authorizations, communicate scheduling needs, and handle payments. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, basic healthcare front desk experience, proficiency with Microsoft

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of medical front office or healthcare administrative experience preferred.
• Experience verifying insurance benefits and obtaining prior authorizations is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register new patients and collect demographic, insurance, and financial information.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using scheduling systems.
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and coverage limits.
• Obtain prior authorizations, referrals, and precertifications for timely care.
• Notify patients of benefits and estimated responsibility; explain authorization requirements.
• Collect copayments and balances; process patient payments.
• Communicate scheduling needs with therapists and address patient concerns.
• Answer multi-line phones and respond to inquiries.
