Overview

WEST JEFFERSON ANIMAL HOSPITAL has an opportunity for a PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR to join our team!
West Jefferson Animal Hospital proudly serves the West Jefferson OH area for all pet-related needs. Our clinic is led by Paul Stephenson, a licensed veterinarian with over 35 years of experience serving the community.

Location: 121 E. Main St., West Jefferson, Ohio 43162

Shift Details: Full-time (30+ hours/week), with AM and PM shifts, or PM only, or mid-day shifts available.

Pay Range: $14.00 - $16.00/hour (based on experience)

What We Are Looking For: Our Patient Care Coordinator acts as the liaison between staff and clients, requiring excellent verbal communication, active listening, emotional intelligence, social awareness, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary: The role involves managing client interactions from check-in to check-out, documenting medical notes, creating treatment plans, coordinating with technical teams, and following up post-visit.

Responsibilities:

  • Uphold MVP core values and mission
  • Contact clients before appointments to set expectations and address questions
  • Greet clients warmly and escort them to exam rooms
  • Enter medical information during exams and update records
  • Create and explain treatment plans
  • Coordinate with technical staff to complete treatment plans
  • Schedule follow-up and wellness visits
  • Manage prescriptions and communicate with clients
  • Explain discharge instructions and handle client checkouts and payments
  • Conduct post-visit follow-ups

Additional Functions: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active listening and accurate transcription skills
  • Knowledge or eagerness to learn veterinary terminology
  • Strong computer skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma (required)
  • Medical terminology knowledge (preferred)

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged standing and computer work
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
