Job summary

SoNE HEALTH Medical Group - NEPA seeks a Patient Care Representative in Vernon, CT. This full-time role handles daily office operations, patient scheduling, records, and greeting patients to ensure a welcoming environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma (AA preferred), 2+ years medical office experience, proficiency with computers, and familiarity with medical terminology and health insurance processes. Training includes Athena system experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years medical office experience.
• Athena experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology.
• Experience with health insurance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments for new patients, sick visits, physicals, and office visits.
• Answer telephone calls and process requests.
• Process and file e-faxed documents into the appropriate patient’s chart.
• Process incoming and outgoing medical records requests.
• Scan paperwork into patient charts.
• Monitor patient portal messages and respond as appropriate.
• E-fax referrals, school physical forms and other paperwork.
• Greet and check-in patients for appointments.
• Obtain signatures, insurance cards and IDs.
• Collect co-pays and balances.
• Check patients out and schedule follow-ups.
• Review upcoming appointments to anticipate needs and supplies.
• Notify patients about labs and medications as appropriate.
