Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with hospital systems expected.
• Excellent oral and written communications required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage interruptions and changing priorities.
• High level of attention to detail essential.
• Certification Addendum may apply; maintain annual hospital-based certifications as required.
• Must keep up with departmental policies and standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates tests and treatments with and between departments for patients on nursing units.
• Supports patient care communications via multi-line telephone, paging, and hospital information systems.
• Maintains knowledge of EMR and other systems for ordering supplies and equipment.
• Prepares chart forms for admissions, transfers, discharges, and expirations.
• Verifies patient demographics and registration accuracy in medical records.
• Fosters positive customer relations and a harmonious work environment.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care knowledge and adapts to growth and development needs.
