Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support Registered Nurses in daily patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, mobility, and patient positioning for safe transfers.

You will document vital signs and other patient data in the EMR, assist with admissions, rounds, nutrition, and procedures, respond to call lights, and help maintain infection prevention and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers recommended/required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with transfers.
• Proficient in documenting patient data in EMR.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care (bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, mobility, positioning, transfers).
• Participates in admission, transfer and discharge processes under supervision.
• Performs routine rounding and reports observations to RN.
• Assists with nutritional needs and skin integrity tasks as directed.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Maintains infection prevention practices and uses PPE as required.
• Coordinates tests and treatments with various departments; documents in EMR.
• Handles communications via phones and paging; ensures call lights are within reach.
• Prepares admission/discharge charts and ensures accurate patient demographics.
