Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital is seeking a Patient Logistic Specialist to join our Patient Logistics Center. The role centers on urgent patient coordination, gathering clinical information for clinicians, and maintaining bed availability across facilities to support efficient patient disposition and admissions.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree or higher, strong communication and organizational skills, and familiarity with medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Experience in an acute care setting preferred (e.g., ED).
• Understanding of how patient populations move through a hospital setting and healthcare organizations.
• Experience in Behavioral Health is preferred.
• Good communication skills, verbal and written.
• Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Proficient and understands medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Respond to phone calls with urgency and strong customer service.
• Gather initial information to open new case/call and prepare clinical information for clinicians.
• Maintain awareness of facility medical staff, services and programs.
• Locate resources and coordinate information to support patient disposition and admissions.
• Maintain inventory of bed availability within the community for non-HCA placements and admissions.
• Accept, track and facilitate hospital transfers and transports telephonically and via computer applications.
• Provide updates on status of patient cases and bed placement requests.
• Assist with scheduling and prioritizing discharge transports and support rapid response to service requests.
