Qualifications

• 1-3 years of customer service and/or healthcare experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS and ICD coding preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy in documentation and patient information.
• Ability to multi-task and cross-train in referrals duties.
• Proficiency with EMR and Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and processes patient referrals to completion with precision.
• Schedules patients and notifies appointment details (date, time, location).
• Communicates physician/clinician needs or outstanding items for patients.
• Assists with obtaining medical records and documentation for visits.
• Accommodates high-priority patient needs.
• Addresses referral requests via multiple channels within 48 hours.
• Delivers exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Verifies payer information and seeks required authorization or referrals.
• Collaborates with departments to resolve issues or accommodate special needs.
• Maintains appointment quotas as directed and participates in process improvements.
