Our client is an early-stage healthcare and life sciences startup is hiring Patient Case Managers to guide patients and their families through a complex, personalized care journey from first enquiry to follow-up. You will help shape how the company supports patients, not just follow a process someone else wrote.
What you'll do
- Be the main point of contact for your group of patients, their families and their physicians through regular emails and video calls, guiding each patient from first enquiry and sign-up through eligibility review, treatment preparation and delivery, and follow-up.
- Own each patient's journey. Collect medical data for eligibility screening, request records, manage consent paperwork and keep every step on its agreed timeline.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and the medical and scientific teams. Answer non-clinical questions directly and elevate clinical questions promptly through the established pathway.
- Coordinate samples end to end. Arrange collection and shipping with physicians, labs and other external partners, and track every sample through to results.
- Lead sensitive conversations about risks, costs, billing and financial aid with compassion and discretion, and arrange practical support such as travel and scheduling.
- Build the foundations. Create and maintain patient trackers and accurate, confidential records, and help formalize the end-to-end patient process. Over time, you may train and manage new case managers while keeping your own patient group.
What we're looking for

- Compassionate communication in distressing situations
- Roughly 2-7 years of relevant experience (strong candidates with less will be considered)
- Comfort managing complex, time-sensitive logistics across multiple external parties, with a track record of keeping every case moving and nothing dropped
- A degree, with a strong academic background
Nice-to-haves
- Oncology or other serious-illness experience
- A medical or nursing background, or nurse navigator experience
- Familiarity with HIPAA, GCP and specimen handling or chain of custody

- Experience building processes from scratch
