Job summary

Mercy seeks a part-time Patient Care Associate (PCA) to assist in individualized patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN. The role involves vital signs, basic patient care, meals, mobility, and supportive tasks within a team-based environment.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, enteral feeding, wound care, IV/Foley removal, and trach care as needed. Training through Mercy's accredited apprenticeship program is provided.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC or enrolled in a healthcare career program.
• Experience: None required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document into the electronic medical records system.
• Assist with patient care needs including meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, patient mobility, and transport.
• Clerical support duties, as needed.
• Phlebotomy/blood cultures.
• Enteral feeding.
• Wound care.
• IV/Foley removal.
• Trach care/suctioning.
