Job summary

Mercy is hiring a Patient Care Associate (PCA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) to assist in individualized patient care under RN/LPN supervision. The role includes vital signs, basic care, and potential career ladder progressions within a supportive apprenticeship program.

Training is provided, including a 175-hour program if no previous experience, with BLS within one month and PCA competencies within three months. Benefits, schedules, and advancement opportunities are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrolled in healthcare program.
• Experience: None required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document into the EMR.
• Assist with patient care needs including meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, mobility, and transport.
• Clerical support duties, as needed.
• PCA duties include general patient care.
• PCT duties: Phlebotomy/blood cultures, Enteral Feeding, Wound care, IV/Foley removal, Trach care/suctioning.
