Mercy is hiring a Patient Care Associate/Patient Care Technician for nights in the 7A department. Under RN or LPN direction, you will support individualized patient care, participate in a career ladder, and handle duties from vital signs to basic nursing tasks and entry-level procedures.

Mercy offers an accredited PCA training program, a 175-hour training if no prior experience, and requirements like BLS within 1 month of hire, with a 90‑day completion window to stay in the PCA role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or CNA/CPTC credential.
• No prior healthcare experience required.
• BLS within 1 month; PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document into the electronic medical records system.
• Assist with patient care needs including meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, patient mobility, and transport.
• Clerical support duties, as needed.
• Phlebotomy/blood cultures; Enteral feeding; Wound care; IV/Foley removal; Trach care/suctioning.
