Job summary

NorthWest EMS seeks a Part-Time Patient Care Associate to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a professional nurse. You will support patients with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and help ensure safety in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, good bedside manner, and completion of necessary clearances within 90 days. CNA experience or nursing student status is a plus; shift rotations include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Basic Function:

Provides direct patient care appropriate to age, culture, and developmental needs under the direction of the Professional Nurse. Works closely with patients to provide physical assistance with daily living tasks, such as dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting, vital signs, catheter care, answering call lights, assisting with ambulation, turning, and ensuring patient safety. Technical skills may include obtaining 12 lead EKG, setting up respiratory equipment, glucometer monitoring, bladder catheterization and transcribing orders, when indicated.

Qualifications

Required:

High school graduate or equivalent. Excellent bedside manner and customer service & computer skills. Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred

Successful completion of a nursing assistant program (with proof of completion). Nursing student after successful completion of their first quarter/semester of nursing school. Previous nursing assistant experience, CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). BCLS certification.
